Membership Application Form

By submitting this form, I hereby commit to:

  • Promote the values and principles stated in the preamble of APHR's Charter, namely that:
    • Human rights concerns transcend national interests;
    • Human rights are central to and indivisible from ASEAN's economic and political aspirations;
    • All Southeast Asian nations have a role to play in resolving human rights concerns in the region;
    • ASEAN is no greater than the sum of its parts;
    • ASEAN's non-interference policy is a barrier to human rights protections recognized under international law and relevant treaties ratified by individual states; and
    • ASEAN needs to develop a comprehensive regional human rights mechanism to which all member states should be party and beholden to.
  • Refrain from promoting, encouraging or taking actions that undermine international human rights norms and standards and/or undermine the image and reputation of APHR;
  • Not engage in hate speech, support for violence, discriminatory practices, or any actions that undermine or violate the human rights of others;
  • Promoting, respecting and protecting international human rights law and standards, their universality and indivisibility;
  • Respect the rights and dignity of all APHR staff, members, and partners at all times;
  • Advance gender sensitive behavior, practices and norms at all times;
  • Engage with the Secretariat and Membership on relevant human rights issues and/or participate in at least two APHR events, meetings and sign on statements over a three year period; and
  • Refrain from misusing APHR resources to advance a specific political agenda of a political party.
